Longview Symphony Orchestra

Dear Friends of the Symphony,

A new season is quickly approaching, and with it comes the opportunity for you to help our community enjoy beautiful orchestral music throughout the year. As we enter the 2010–2011 season, I encourage you to support the Longview Symphony by purchasing season tickets and making an additional, tax-deductible donation. Your contributions help offset the substantial production costs for the symphony season. In the past, ticket income has covered only 25% of our expenses, so you can see how we depend on your generosity to continue the tradition of accessible music in our community.

Your continued financial support will enable us to present four stunning performances throughout the next season, including performances of popular compositions by Brahms, Vivaldi, Pachelbel, and Shostakovich, as well as guest artist, 17-year-old violinist Shannon Lee, a prodigy from the Dallas area who debuted at the age of 12 with the Dallas Symphony Orchestra. Your support also enables the Longview Symphony to continue our mission of educating tomorrow's great musicians who practice with professionals thorough out the year as part of our youth orchestra programs.

The recent economic climate has been very challenging for the Longview Symphony. While donations have diminished, costs have not. I urge you to support the symphony and the professional musicians we employ by joining us in our new season with season tickets and a tax-deductible donation. With your help, we can celebrate the sustaining power of music as the Longview Symphony performs your musical favorites.

I appreciate your continued, generous support.

Musically yours,

President
